Nairobi Arrival

Upon arrival at the international airport, you will be met and greeted by our airport representative holding a pager with Amboseli Plains Safaris Logo and your surname/Group name printed below the logo. You will be assisted with your luggage and taken to our transfer vehicle. We will proceed to your city hotel for check in and overnight stay. Nairobi city is the starting point for most safari journeys in Kenya.

Nairobi is one of the most influential cities in Africa. It serves as a convenient starting point for your Kenyan safari adventure allowing you to combine city exploration with wildlife encounters.

Amboseli National Park

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Wilson airport to board your scheduled flight to Amboseli National Park the strongholds of elephants and the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, which is the only freestanding mountain in the world. Amboseli is becoming one of the most visited safari destinations in Africa because of the elephants known all over the world where you can have up close encounters with them.

You will have an en route safari going through the wetlands having a look at some of the most beautiful birds including flamingos arriving in time for check-in and lunch. An afternoon game drive has been scheduled for you.

Amboseli National Park

For the next two days you will be crisscrossing the plains of Amboseli, the dry lake bed and the rocky outcrops looking for big herds of elephants doing their normal routine feeding on the wetlands during the day and heading back to the woodlands to spend the night, Amboseli is home to a variety of other wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and a range of bird species. The park's ecosystems support a rich diversity of flora and fauna, making it a fantastic spot for wildlife photography and birdwatching.

If the weather permits you can have an experience of the time being served breakfast in the wild “Bush Breakfast” and the safari is not complete without having a sundowner on the volcanic hills that enables you to have a whole view of the ecosystem. Most of the game drives are combined inside the National park and on the private conservancy that are owned and managed by the local community who are the host of the wildlife.

Amboseli is known to be the original home of the local Maasai, with their authentic culture and traditions you can have a chance to have a stopover in one of their villages to interact with them.

Lewa Conservancy

After breakfast and checkout you will be driven to Amboseli airstrip where you will be catching up your flight to the northern part of Kenya. Lewa Conservancy is a private wildlife reserve located in northern Kenya, spanning about 62,000 acres. It's renowned for its impressive conservation efforts and is a key player in the protection of endangered species, especially the critically endangered black rhino. The conservancy is part of a larger conservation area that includes neighboring properties, contributing to a significant wildlife corridor.

You will have an en route game drive heading to the camp/lodge ready for check in. Lunch will be served  at the main dining area facing the flora and fauna of the beautiful Lewa Conservancy.

Lewa Conservancy

Most of the best game drives are done very early in the morning because that's the best time that most of the wildlife are active and the predators are winding up the past night activities. Lewa being a private conservancy is known to have different kinds of activities despite excellent game viewing, The activities include: game drives, guided walking safaris, and bush breakfasts. There are also opportunities for cultural experiences, such as visiting local Maasai communities.

Maasai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, check out and proceed to the airstrip game viewing en route to catch up your scheduled flight to the famous Maasai Mara. The Maasai Mara is renowned for its extraordinary wildlife spectacle. It is part of the larger Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, which supports a complex web of life. The reserve's grassy plains are home to the 'Big Five'—lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and buffalo—as well as an astonishing array of other species. This includes giraffes, cheetahs, hippos, and a vibrant assortment of antelope such as the gazelle and the topi.

But it is the Great Migration that truly sets the Maasai Mara apart. Every year, from July to October, over two million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles embark on a dramatic journey from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the lush pastures of the Mara. This epic migration is one of the most awe-inspiring natural events on the planet, where the herds face treacherous river crossings and predatory threats in their quest for greener pastures.

Upon arrival you will be headed to the Camp game viewing en route for checkin and lunch. Lunch will be served . Lunch will be served outside the main restaurant with an excellent view of Mara plains or Mara river from a distance. An afternoon game drive is scheduled for you on this day.

Maasai Mara Game Reserve

For the next two days you shall have an unlimited game viewing searching and looking for the most famous Lion’s prides of Maasai Mara with the black mane and also try to capture the incredible super migration of millions of wildebeests, zebras, elands and antelopes crossing over the highly crocodile infested Mara river. You might have viewed this dramatic event on your electronic screens but if it is your first time to view in reality, believe us that is going to be the most thrilling lifetime experience packed with action.

By exploring the great Mara plains you can top up by spotting all the ‘Big Five’, which are all present and in abundance in this great ecosystem

You can also have a hot air balloon safari over the Maasai Mara and it is a truly unforgettable experience. As you float gently above the vast plains, you will be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the African savanna. A safari is not complete without having a sundowner if the weather permits.

Depart

After breakfast and checkout, you will proceed to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Nairobi. Upon arrival, our concierge team, who has organized lunch at a city restaurant/hotel, will meet you. A day room has been organized for you until 6:00pm for final refreshments and repacking. Later after the farewell dinner, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international bound flight.

Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Early morning breakfast will be served at the lodge/camp, thereafter you will be transferred by road to Kenya/Tanzania border(Isibania town) with a picnic lunch or if you are on premium package , you will be transferred to Seronera Airstrip to connect morning flight to Maasai Mara via Tarime Airstrip(Tanzania) and Migori Airstrip(Kenya). After clearance you will proceed by road to the famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve. which is a renowned wildlife sanctuary in Kenya, famous for its vast grasslands, diverse ecosystems, and the annual Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras. This iconic event, occurring between July and October, draws thousands of animals across the Mara River.

Beyond the Great Migration, visitors can expect to encounter a wide range of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and various antelope species.
